The Globe Trotters Are Learning So Much!

The Globetrotters have been working very hard in all subjects. Some days, when it's time to clean up, we are amazed to hear a groan or two, "I'm still working!".

In Keri's math class kids have been working on adding and subtracting from 100 and making change for a dollar. In Katie's math workshop kids were introduced to equivalent fractions while cooking with math buddies. We also continue to work on calendar skills.

In literacy we are reading and writing up a storm. Keri's literacy has written a group story and is illustrating it. Katie's class has picked their "just right" books and are working on descriptive writing.

In Social Studies we had a great time comparing and contrasting Keri's farm to the Booker T. Washington plantation. We also combined social studies and science by creating a group collage on the sites of Virginia.

Next Tuesday the students will be going on a hiking field trip. Please read the note sent home in your child's folder today.
